Carlile Transportation is proud to announce the participation of its accomplished line driver, Michael Brad Hinkes (Brad), in the prestigious National Truck Driving Championships (NTDC) held in Columbus, Ohio. Brad, based in Fairbanks, brings his extensive expertise to the competition, having previously competed at the national level an impressive 8 times. This year, he will compete in the 3-axle tractor-semitrailer.
Organized annually by the American Trucking Associations, the NTDC is a hallmark event in the industry. Tracing its roots back to 1937 as the National Truck Rodeo, the NTDC gathers professional truck drivers from across the nation.
Competitors at the NTDC are selected winners from eight categories of the 50 State Trucking Associations’ Truck Driving Championships. This rigorous event provides a platform for drivers to showcase their skills through various tests, including a written examination, pre-trip inspection assessment, and the notable skills test. The NTDC stands as a beacon, inspiring countless drivers to maintain impeccable safety records, earning them the right to compete.
The Championships act as a catalyst for safe driving, requiring participants to uphold an accident-free history for at least a year prior to the event. It’s worth noting that many competitors boast millions of miles of accident-free driving.
Carlile Transportation is thrilled to support Brad Hinkes’ remarkable journey in the NTDC. His participation exemplifies the company’s commitment to safety and excellence within the transportation industry.
