ANCHORAGE, Alaska – December 10, 2024 –

Carlile Transportation and TOTE Maritime Alaska are proud to continue an annual holiday tradition of supporting Boy Scout Troop 219 in Eagle River. For more than eight years, the two companies have teamed up to donate the transport of a shipping container filled with wreaths from Tumwater, Washington, to Alaska, enabling the troop to carry out its annual holiday fundraiser.

Sherwood Forest Farms in Tumwater provides the wreaths as part of a national fundraising program that supports nonprofits. Thanks to the donated transportation services from Carlile and TOTE Maritime Alaska, Troop 219 can allocate the proceeds to fund group activities and excursions that build camaraderie and life skills.

“The impact of the delivery donation from TOTE Maritime Alaska and Carlile is huge,” said Steve Puterbaugh, Scoutmaster for Troop 219. “Activities as a group are at the heart of our program. The funds raised help subsidize summer camps and year-round activities, providing invaluable experiences for our scouts.”

Both Carlile and TOTE Maritime Alaska are committed to community service, a guiding principle in their operations. Through employee volunteerism, in-kind transportation services, and direct donations, the companies play an integral role in supporting Alaska communities.

“We believe in contributing to the communities we serve,” said Christen VanTreeck who is Vice President of Operations. “It’s a team effort to transport the wreaths from Washington to Alaska, and we are honored to work with TOTE Maritime Alaska and Troop 219 on this important fundraiser.”
