Carlile Transportations Senior Account Manager Elinor Harrington, sat down for a podcast with Steve Grossmith of Global Logistics to discuss the unique requirements required to move 28 wood bison across interior Alaska.
Carlile Transportation has been working with the Alaska Department of Fish and Game and Alaska Wild Conservation Center to deploy wood bison back into their natural habitat, in Alaska, as part of a large ongoing restoration project that started back in 2008.
“We were at the edge of our seats up until the day of moving.” says Harrington, “The most rewarding part was hearing that the new herd has been reintroduced and accepted by the other herd. It’s emotional.”
